Who am I?

From the moment I received my first telescope at the age of 10, my fascination with astronomy took hold of me. As I eagerly assembled the instrument, I couldn't wait to direct it towards the heavens and unlock the mysteries of the cosmos. Little did I know that this simple gift would ignite a lifelong passion.

It was on a clear night, with my telescope set up in our backyard, that I experienced a profound "wahoo!" moment. Peering through the eyepiece, I beheld the Moon in all its glory, its pockmarked surface revealing the impact of countless craters. The sheer magnitude of what I was witnessing left me in awe, and from that point forward, I was captivated by the wonders of the universe.

As the years have passed, my passion for astronomy has only deepened. I've eagerly devoured books, attended star parties and lectures, and spent countless hours under the starry canopy, observing celestial objects and pondering the vastness of space. Each new discovery, whether it be a distant galaxy, a shimmering nebula, or the dance of planets, has only fueled my curiosity and desire to delve further into the mysteries of the cosmos.

Living in England has its own advantages for an aspiring astronomer. I am incredibly fortunate to reside in a designated dark sky protected area, where the impact of light pollution is minimal. The unspoiled night sky presents a breathtaking panorama of stars, constellations, and other celestial wonders, providing me with a front-row seat to the beauty and grandeur of the universe.

But my journey in astronomy is not just about personal exploration. It is about sharing the marvels of the cosmos with others, igniting their curiosity and inspiring them to look up and wonder. Whether it's organizing stargazing events, giving presentations, or simply engaging in conversations with fellow enthusiasts, I find joy in spreading the awe and knowledge that astronomy brings.

As I continue to gaze at the stars and unravel the mysteries of the universe, I am grateful for the early spark that ignited my passion for astronomy. It has become an integral part of my life, guiding me on a cosmic adventure that I am excited to embark on when I can.

Software

AstroFrame is a specialized astronomy application that processes images of Jupiter and Saturn taken with the Seestar S50 telescope. Using these images, it calculates the periodicity of the planets' main moons, measures their distances to the planets, and determines the planetary masses based on orbital dynamics. This tool combines astronomical observation with data analysis, providing valuable insights into the celestial mechanics of the Solar System's largest planets.
